A random act of violence at the Sandhill Crane Golf Club in Florida left a 65-year-old man dead after being brutally attacked with his own golf clubs. The suspect, 36-year-old Junior Boucher, was apprehended after attempting to flee, and police continue investigating the motive.

WEST PALM BEACH, FL (2-minute read) — A 65-year-old man, Brian Hiltebeitel, was killed in a random act of violence at the Sandhill Crane Golf Club in West Palm Beach on Monday. Police allege that Junior Boucher, 36, attacked Hiltebeitel using the victim’s own golf clubs in a brutal and unprovoked assault.

According to witnesses and police reports, Hiltebeitel was heard shouting, “He’s trying to kill me,” as he ran from Boucher, who was wielding a golf club. Boucher reportedly struck the victim repeatedly, chased him into a pond, and continued the attack until Hiltebeitel was motionless. Witness accounts describe Boucher striking Hiltebeitel multiple times in the head before removing his clothes and attempting to flee.

Officers arriving on the scene found the victim in the pond with significant head injuries and other lacerations. Hiltebeitel was pronounced dead at the scene. Police apprehended Boucher following a brief chase, which ended after the deployment of a taser.

Boucher, who was reported missing by his family an hour before the attack, has a lengthy criminal history that includes drug-related charges and domestic battery.
